I reread A Few Good Fish to get a refresher on the story before I read Amy Lane’s fourth book in the series, and because—well—it’s Amy Lane. I think she must write the way she knits: gather up several different story lines and knit them together into a warm and watertight creation with loops and pockets/5(54).

A Few Good Fish is the third novel in Miss Lane’s Fish Out of Water series. I ended up listening to this as a standalone due to time constraints; and while it worked and the author provides sufficient back information so I could follow along, I’d certainly recommend reading the series in order.
